Inspirations from Nature

My days are filled with inspirations and beauty. The cool crisp sunny air just runs through my blood. I grow excited about having one more day outside before the snow comes.

Weekend In the Trees

After Meditation scribbles

Morning Meditations

This past weekend I had the pleasure of taking part in my yearly Osho retreat in Wisconsin. The weekend was full of love, light, music, and enough dancing for one year. I wanted to share my reflections from this weekend with the photos that were my inspirations. I believe the meditation that I encountered was amazing and untouchable even to me. My art and writings are my passion and pure joy in life for my path begins and ends with visions and words and I love to share with all of you. Thanks for reading.

Finding your heart

Walking blindly through life, to stumble upon a HEART leaf in the grass saying STOP and take a moment to BREATHE... And that's what I did. I so appreciate this moment of LOVE

Walk on the wild side

Everyday moves so fast! Every second is a moment in life to celebrate, with stillness in your heart. The woods offer many moments for my heart and I will walk and enjoy this precious moment...

Visions of Beauty

What can I say about the beauty of nature. The energy of the fall is strong, and as an artist the visions are ramped and uncontrollable. I see beauty in EVERYTHING... So I say to myself how much beauty can I capture in one day and I seemed to amaze myself at how easy this task was. So now I will share my visions of beauty for all to see.

Spookies

The smell of Fall is in the air. I love this time of the year, and it's the perfect time for warm pastels blending together like the colors of the leaves. I hide away in my art space and my ink pen leads me on a voyage of little creatures to create. I call these my little Spookies...

Feeling Groovy

Getting lost in the concept of lines excites me. How many ways can I possibly draw a line and or shape? The feeling of color and more color layered for depth excites me! Who cares if it does not match? Janis Joplin use to say "The more colors the better" I live by that mantra. So much more to experiment with the painting in different mediums yet to come.

Artful Hands

I love this moment in time. My daughter came running to me and said "look at the colors in our hands mom" She demanded I get my camera that I always have on me and take a picture before it's goes away!  I cherish moments like this with my daughter and her friends, I hope she never looses her carefree spirit. I know one thing for sure is she is not afraid to get her hands dirty...

The Flow

The free flow feeling of a line... What do you feel? These minute compositions are so relaxing to me. There is no pressure and the outcome is not in my control, I LOVE this about art!

It's always makes me feel so good to give back to others. Looking so forward to spending a couple of hours with children letting them create works of art. I feel so blessed to have this opportunity

While out at a flee market last week, i stubbled upon these great handmade Russian stamps that are amazing! They seem to work really well with ink and not paint or a stamp pad. I decided to try and draw some old school floral prints for cards, and I love how they came out. This pad is from a resale shop and they are very old but the quality is wonderful and it soaks in much more then the paper i buy now. What a great artistic weekend.

The Book Of Love

Sometime painting to music as I'm sure a lot of artist do is an experience all in itself. I drew this study while listening to Peter Gaberiel's Book of Love song. I laid in bed and the image just flowed through me. I envisioned what and how I am now feeling about the concept of love and who it will be with once I find that special person.  I love the rawness of the ink and the guidelines of the woman's face. Not sure what will become of this drawing but the fact that this is a scribble is soooo exciting to me.

My intuitives

With just the pen and a free flow stroke of shapes these faces were created. This is kind of a good experiment for me in order to break out of habit of my usually female faces. I rarely draw the male face and I am very happy with this outcome.

Scribble Scrabble

This week I am going to post a daily scribble that I have done in the past few weeks. I like the rush feeling of wanting to complete these before work in the morning. Messing with zentangle for me is a way to create the unexpected and go from there.  This drawing is my psychedelic elephant. This is the first ever animal I have ever drawn, and I thinks it's pretty funny. My daughter says that this could not go in a child's room because it will scare them...

A Day At the Park

Ahhh a day at the park. As I sat and watched the kids play, I could not help but notice all the different textures and reflections of light. I immediately took out my camera and this is what I saw. Nature materials in their natural state, left to weather and become pieces of art for the eye to   see.

Heart Opening

Pen & Ink with color pencils. (2011) Part of the women and yoga series. I felt so empowered drawing this piece because it is a just a regular everyday ink pen and cross hatch movement. The shading is the best part for me and very zen like for me during a hetic day.

The Feeling of OM

As I flowed through my yoga practice today there was a feeling of freedom and happiness. The challenge of the poses was not an issue, there is no doubt I pushed myself. In the end I conquered and there was no fear. With life's unexpected happenings I am so grateful for the practice of yoga. This is from a series of quick sketches that are so fun when ideas are not flowing.

BUTTERFLIES FOR CAROL

My dear friend lost her daughter to addiction, but seeks harmony & peace in seeing white butterflies that her daughter was very fond of.
This painting came to me in a dream, and I was honored to share it with my friend. I loved only using colored pencil, this kept the picture very innocent to me. The bottom picture was played with digitally and funked out.
A PLACE FOR POPPIES

Finding a Connection

People come in and out of our lives for a reason and the season. I am so grateful like a songwriter to be able to express my emotions through my art...

No Connection

With the energy of vibrant orange and blue, we try to
CONNECT
The space between us stays open, maybe full of hope and dreams that we are meant to be
As the
SPACE
grows bigger, flames of red splurge and
HEARTS
are broken but only to
LEARN
There just was no
CONNECTION
